Staff augmentation for a Klang Valley bank: .NET contractors for a release window

A Malaysian bank needed extra .NET capacity for a fixed release programme without adding permanent headcount. Tech Talent supplied screened contractors on cost-plus terms and stayed close through onboarding.

Challenge

The delivery calendar was fixed. The in-house team knew the domain but did not have enough senior .NET capacity for the next two release trains.

Permanent hiring would miss the window. The bank wanted contractors who could join an existing squad, pass security onboarding, and ship — not a long learning curve.

Prior agency shortlists had been keyword-heavy and soft on production depth, which burned interview slots.

Approach

We clarified must-haves with the hiring manager: production .NET experience, banking or high-compliance delivery preferred, and willingness to work on-site or hybrid in the Klang Valley.

Candidates were screened against a written rubric (OPAL-supported), then submitted with clear billing rates under our cost-plus model.

We coordinated interviews, offer paperwork, and start dates, then ran weekly account-manager check-ins so issues surfaced early for both the bank and the contractors.

Outcome

Three contractors joined in staged starts aligned to the release plan. The squad kept velocity through the programme without opening permanent headcount.

Feedback loops after the first shortlist tightened later submissions — declined CVs came back with reasons, so the next round matched the bar.

Two contractors were extended past the initial term once the bank confirmed ongoing delivery need.
